Dear Friends,
May I dedicate this poem to my better half on this Women's Day with your wishes & blessings.
You My Dear...
Wrapped in yards of silk, red and black, you stood
Serene and alone, everything around you falling away
Like a beacon to lost ships you shone strong and bright
Your picture on tissue I captured, vivid till date
Time passed, my faith waned, no number or name I had
Your image re-occurred like a beautiful painful dream
One evening a sympathetic soul called, and a lifeline gave
Encouraged by spirit, your voice, beautifully calm, I heard
I met you with weak knees and wet palms on a crowded street
Lets take a walk you said, and I followed with no will to resist
Through your agonizing days I waited, silently abiding my time
Your raving and ranting I heard, stifling my own desire
I helped you escape from the demons of your past
Your desire to live, your thirst to grow, I brought back
Beauty in stone, word and music you showed me
A lust for life, strong and undying, you brought me
In an empty blue room, we reached for each other
Passionate we were, was it only a vent for our frustrations?
Your body I touched, once twice and every time
But alas, it was your soul I wanted, and did not reach
Wrapped in yards of silk, red and black, you stood
Serene and alone, everything falling away
