Quite Unbelievable…Yet it is true…
YES…The recent achievements by a progressive farmer Mr.Haji Kalimullah Khan Known as “Mango Man” from Malihabad has find his name in Limca Book of Records for rearing a unique tree in which more than 300 varieties of Mango’s in one tree.
His rare technique of grafting & growing many varieties in one tree baffled many scientists & researchers left them wondering about its mystery.
Born in the family of mango growers for decades and developed an instinct to incorporate unique nurturing of trees with many wonders.
He has been concentrating on this Mango growing right from the year 1987 and succeeded to grow new varieties in one tree.
He has crafted more than 300 varieties of mango in one of his family’s orchid known as “dussehri” farms in a 100 year old mango tree.
He has also cultivated 5 more new varieties of Mango and named it after the famous actress “Aishwarya, Nayantara, Nargis and Jahanara “
His another remarkable creations are flowering 54 varieties in one tree and presented it to the then President in 1999 which stands as a living monument at Mughal Gardens in Rashtrapathy Bhavan, Delhi even now.
This 10 foot long tree with 6 foot long roots dug out with 5 quintals of mud from his farm house and transported to Rashtrapathy Bhavan in the year 1999 and re-planted it there.
He has also grown a new all season flowering Guava which on ripening grows as red as an apple.
Let us salute this sexagenarian farmer who made our India proud by his remarkable feats.
