My dear friends.
Here I would like to share our ancient Rig Veda’s teachings to us “Come together, Speak in concord, let our minds comprehend alike, let our efforts be united, our hearts be in agreements, our minds be united so that we all live in Peace”
The above epilogue holds good to let our political parties, citizens of various states to come closer as a nation and take a firm decision to implement National Water Project by Inter Linking Rivers in our Country and share for the prosperity & goodwill of the nation.
The need for water management is essential to streamline our water resources and prevent the precious water draining into ocean or flood the nation.
The need to overcome, prevent and survive from Drought and Flood is the way to prosperity.
Whole world is in need of potable drinking water as well as less polluted water for agronomical usages.
Water tables are decreasing alarmingly and Project Inter Linking Rivers a necessity.
Water is common to all and it has to be shared without any disparity of regional issues.
We have seen the disaster in China due to Bigger Dam’s and subsequent after effects of earth quacks and over storage capacities.
A night mare to every citizen living near the dam site worrying about its leak, burst etc.,
Before it is too late, our citizens must think, insist our Governments in State & Central to take up the dream project of National River Linking in war footing urgency.
Diverting the excess water to lesser areas through linking rivers and canals is the only alternate to escape from drought and floods.
Although many of our narrow minded regional parties and its leaders object this project for the sake of their own Vote Bank politricks, we must see it in Nation’s importance and for the welfare of mankind.
We have many rivers connecting & passing through many states and no one is ready for sharing it with other states due to their own selfishness.
The ultimate result is the sufferings and mass destruction of crops, economy as well as public property losses due to floods during the monsoon periods.
With the ever increasing populations and the need of clean, potable drinking water is increasing day by day.
We are forced to buy water at exorbitant cost from those water merchandisers who thrive with huge profits due to mass exploitations & water miss- management policies of government’s.
Hence the need of connecting those 30 biggest rivers and canals to manage our water resources arise today, although the project cost may run to several crores of rupees and time consuming, still it is worth to save our future requirements of water.
As our nation depends upon food crops from our vast agricultural lands which often remain in drought or flooded due to improper distribution of water resources during summer and monsoons respectively.
We were forced to start a few projects like connecting Mahanadhi with Godhavari and the river Inchampalli with Nagarjunsagar and pulichantla, Somasila river to Nagarjuna, Grand Anicut, Pennar River to Almati & Srisailam, Yamuna with Sharda then to Sabarmathi, Ken – Patwa (U.P & M.P), Parbati – Kali sindh – Chambal, Brahmaputra – Ganges Link, Subamarekaha – Mahanadhi- Ganges (which can irrigate Assam, W.B, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Orissa), Daman Ganga – Pinjal river link, Godhavari to Krishna, Pennar to Cauveri and many more...
Ultimate Dream is Ganga – Cauveri connecting all rivers in the country.
When China has already started linking its rivers from South to North 1300 kms and expected to complete by year 2010.
Why Not WE? Let us forget regional barriers and work towards as one nation.
There may be many obstacles like displacements of certain people from their native places enroute to water ways while inter linking Rivers and Canals. Mass expenditure to bear the cost of the project etc.,
Still it is worth while to stay in Peace & Prosperity.
We can avoid precious lives of our citizens, crops, properties from drought and flooding.
