Weird News, yet it is a delicacy to win the Guinness book of World records.

Yes, a crane lowered around 3,000 kg of vegetables and then 3,000 kg of rice into a gigantic vessel with 1,200 litres of simmering oil. Creating a new record amid much fanfare, more biryani was cooked here on Saturday the March 1st 2008 than anywhere in the world before.

Lalitt Gattani, CEO of Show craft, one of the organizers, said the aim of cooking such a humongous amount of biryani was to break the last record created by them and maintain
India
’s position in the category.

These mammoth biryani preparations broke the earlier record of 12,886 Kg briyani said Kaoru Ishakawa, the record manager from the Guinness Book of World Records who was checking all the procedures before announcing the record.

With 60 cooks with gloves long handles in their hands stirred the pot from the high pedestal in front of many visitors at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium grounds at
New Delhi
.

Although the biryani was non-vegetarian but it's not, and crowds were excited to taste it anyway free of cost.

The scenario of giant cranes lowering the vegetables in to that big vessel, and took nearly 6 hours to prepare the biryani and it was a fantastic feat to the crowd as well as to the organizers.
